Blogging Privacy
July 26, 2007 at 10:37 pm (MUSING)
HOW private can privacy ever be? It’s about blogging and the fact is, we define the privacy but the truth is, there is no privacy. For instance, in our daily life, we keep secrets or anything too personal and as long as we don’t talk about it, it’s a secret forever. Now whencesoever, can our secrets be uncovered? Just imagine how Hitler’s biggest secrets, clandestine work of mass-destruction can be uncovered through un-destroyed missive and sketches. No secrets are ever secrets when it’s being told and that has made existence in another mind which explains why; “If I have to tell you, I gotta kill you.” Or any physical records in documents, etcetera. So, how secured can a blog and it’s contents ever be, away from the curious ones and menacing web creepy crawlies – search tools. Anybody will stumble into your blog and it takes less than a day for your contents to disseminate worldwide like furious spawn of a single virus. That multiplies very quickly until it hits your cyber-doorstep with flame mails or best of all, legal threats. How exciting!
EDMW – The Miniature Society
July 20, 2007 at 10:42 pm (SUCH IS LIFE)
HARDWAREZONE is perhaps the most popular local portal and not just that, their craziest and utterly nonsensical sub-forum EDMW, short for Eat Drink Man Woman. Whatever that adds up to mean. The miniature Singapore, a virtual society of ours. People of all creeds, walks of life, like the entire nation online in this sleepless forum. So what about this place that I’m writing about? EDMW is about life. This is one avenue, a sanctuary perhaps, that young adults and teens especially can hide in the veil of anonymity yet at the same time expose the genuine side of themselves. Questions on matters of the heart for example are problems that we refrain from talking about in our day life. Not to mention, the sexual monomaniacs and a forum is just a perfect modus operandi for bullies who are real cowards in the physical world. This is one place that wrung my heart reading about the plight that everybody is hiding from the real world. So how did I stumble into this Hardwarezone? Just to fix my fax machine. www.hardwarezone.com EDMWgo visit to see the horrid beyond words.
Mars Vs. Venus

PRINCESS are girls and what about guys? Princes? No, they’re toads not even frogs and never they’ll turn into any charming princes. That’s an eye for an eye, lousy men! Oh dear, I shouldn’t “generalise” or “stereotype” the entire male population. It hurts them, so badly that they’ll start calling us names and back to that self-pity NMNHNLM chant. So what’s this post about? People in general.
The Bloody Brutal Truth
July 14, 2007 at 2:15 pm (SUCH IS LIFE)
ELITISTS have spoken, we heard it and the hard fact is undeniably slapping us hard on the face. I’m keeping this short as I’m not well today, nonetheless this is what I think though I can’t substantiate much on a solution to this. In light of the Wee ShuMin’s blog posting some time ago, has apparently agitated the public which she’s receiving her well deserved “counter-lambast” from the online mob. This is not about the uncaring elite face I’m about to write, but us. We, Singaporeans.
Men Are Like Songs
July 9, 2007 at 11:04 pm (MUSING)
RHYTHME and the verses. Listen to a man like a song, his impression by the chorus and more about him when you get to his full verses. More often, it’s utter disappointment. Let’s say, you walk pass a shop and you were so enchanted by this rhythme sounding like a chorus, hmm…it’s just exhilarating and you stopped, look around the shop and their merchandise but it’s that song you’re interested in. You want to get close to him and nevermind the details, find out who he is and the rest some other time. So, it’s a very nice song and you asked shop person, what song is that. Like we ask about his name.
The Hunt for Red October

INTERNET is like the deep blue, quiet ocean. To keep a quiet blog is like operating a submarine in the deep sea. But it seems, the ocean is getting a little busy these days since the upswing of personal publishing – blogging. The internet is behemoth of all electronic informations, easily accessible and no longer as urbane when it comes to privacy. But privacy to what some may think is a personal space online, and how personal can it ever be when search spiders are all crawling the worldwideweb – search engines. So the quiet sub that roams the silent depth is no longer safe when sonars (keywords) could capture it’s position and that’s not frightening enough, who are these sending off these signals? Another thing is danger from within, your own friends or online acquaintances. Through betrayal or just out of goodwill someone places you as a link to his/her blog or website, that’s where it attracts the curious, silent roamers to your blog. These are some of the factors I can think of, like a chink in the armour.
Stupid Men Equation
July 6, 2007 at 10:56 pm (SUCH IS LIFE)
DANGEROUS equations that might ruin their whole life. After sometime reading all these forum women bashing craps, I realised that some of these fellas’ mentality is like a car without a steering wheel. I might be wrong but it appears like this. Which is their “NMNHNLM” mentality. Like making Nescafe; sugar + coffee powder + hot water and voila = cup of good coffee. So, tantamount to; money = girlfriend + love. The “No Money, No Honey, Nobody Loves Me” equation set down by their wise one, some losers who coined this. Anyway, the danger?
NMNHNLM – Males in Distress
July 6, 2007 at 1:14 am (SUCH IS LIFE)
CONFIDENCE! That’s what girls are gonna say to those lonely, forlorn local lads in forums about their low self-esteem and despair over girls, or have they even dated yet? So the nightly lamentations, they cut and paste love poems, songs and even pictures that convey the agony of the forlorn. So what can be done or rather improve on? Now stop that NMNHNLM (No Money No Honey Nobody Loves Me) recitation. Now, focus. How to obtain or perhaps create confidence and it seems easier said than done? You can do it or at least try! . . . gzz! There, some helpful pointers!
Who Invented the Ah Beng?
July 2, 2007 at 7:59 pm (FACTS)
TIME and again I come across similar questions posted in forums as to who started this Ah Beng and Ah Lian for describing notorious teenagers, hooligans and street ruffians? Now, before I go on, you can label me a Chao Ah Lian for my err…experience being one of those CentrePoint Kids in the past. I don’t care anyway, it’s all the past. And this, it takes a true blue Ex-Ah Lian to elucidate straight from memory and definitely, no research required! Steady boh?
